BATLEY, Bruce
1943 - 2023
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Bruce Batley, at the age of 79, of Island brook, at the CHUS Fleurimont on May 14, 2023. Bruce was the son of the late Sterling Batley and Peggy Coates.
Loving husband of Ilah Westgate Batley, proud father of Tracy, Christine (Doug Grant), Ginger (Michel Gagnon), grandpa to MacKenzie Hutchison, Gabrielle (Laurent Bourque) and Emily Gagnon, great grandpa to Léon Bourque.
He is survived by his sisters Beverley (Don MacAulay), Carol (Lawrence Hodge), Susan, his sisters-in-law Norma Gill and Linda MacLeod as well as many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
The service will be held at the Trinity United Church in Cookshire, on Saturday May 20, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. and the family will receive condolences at the church 1-hour prior the service. The burial will take place at the Island Brook Cemetery followed by a reception at the Bulwer Community Center.
Bruce was a man of many talents, mechanic, wilder, carpenter. He was a natural athlete, basketball, bowling, golf and a smooth dancer.
