COLEMAN, Robert

1949 - 2021

Robert Ralph Coleman passed away suddenly at home May 21st, 2021 at the age of 71. Robert “Bob” was predeceased by his parents Ralph Coleman and Phyllis Faye Ord.

Beloved and devoted father of Kelly (Chris), Robin, Jodi (Brad), Mike, and Travis (Lori). Robert will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his grandchildren: Amber (Trevor), Gregory, Chloe (Xavier), Daphnee, Tyler (Alex), Madryk, Lexis, Hailey, Rosalie, Lielle, and Griffin, as well as his great grandson Mason. Robert loved his family dearly and didn’t miss an occasion to share just how proud he was of his children and grandchildren.

He also leaves to mourn his sister Hope (late Peter Kutney), his dear friend Linda Hoy, Doris (late Darcy Eryou), his Auntie Gert, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

As per his wishes, there will be a private ceremony with family at a later date, where he will be laid to rest beside his parents. Robert loved the town of Bury, where he raised his family. If you would like to make a memorial donation, donations to the Pope Memorial Elementary School Playground Fund would be greatly appreciated: 523 Stokes Bury, QC, J0B 1J0.

Robert was a charismatic and loveable soul who enjoyed singing and laughing with friends and family. He loved to work on his farm with his children, grandchildren and friends. He remained closely connected to his family and friends throughout the pandemic through daily phone calls. He will be greatly missed by all.

The Coleman family

Our deepest sympathies are with you at this time. Bob always had a smile on his face and was willing to lend a helping hand. He was always a very special person to my daughter, she’s a little person and back when she was in grade 1 she wanted to be able to erase the blackboard. Her teacher told her if she could find a way to do it she could, so my daughter went and found bob who came into the classroom, picked her up and held her while she erased the blackboard. I will always remember that memory with a smile on my face!

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Uncle Bo. He was a remarkably kind and generous man and a genuinely fun person to be around. As children, my sisters and I always looked forward to spending time on the farm with Uncle Bo and our cousins. He will be missed.

It is with a heavy heart I write my thoughts. I will miss my dear brother and all the calls we made to each other. We spoke several times each week and shared concerns and worries and all the latest news.we always spoke about our “ favorite auntie” auntie Gert and who had called her last.many good memories of our parents and grandparents and cousins on the old family farm. I am going to miss my talks with him and trying to pick the winner of the Kentucky Derby. Such fun! To my nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews you are much loved.

The Family

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Bo. I know how much he meant to so many people.
I always looked up to Uncle Bo. Summers as a kid weren’t complete without a multi-week visit to the farm. It always amazed me how such a small number of people could manage such a large farm, all while being able to host such a fun family get together. Uncle Bo obviously played a big part in all the hard work and fun.
Some of my best childhood memories were at the farm. I felt so free and there were so many things to do that a city kid didn’t usually have access to, including jumping in a freezing cold above-ground pool and catching frogs by the handfuls from the ponds. I will never forget how funny and playful Uncle Bo was. I would lose myself laughing when he would pretend to drink out of a calf’s bottle.
One summer, when I was a bit older but still a child, Uncle Bo got us kids working on a large trailer stacking square hay bails. It probably wasn’t a fun time for the kids used to farm work, but I had an absolute blast. Even though I was just a kid, I felt I was actually making a difference and helping. What a gift for a kid to feel pride like that.
There are not many people that I can think of that only occupy happy memories in my mind, but my Uncle Bo is one of those people. I will miss you lots.

All of the family

I am so incredibly sorry to hear about the loss of uncle Bo. Most of my best memories from childhood involve uncle Bo and the farm. The times when he would hook up the tractor to pull the shed at the bottom of the driveway in the winter months, with all us kids inside. The fishing at the bottom ponds when we were younger. The pool he set up in the summer months that I swear was colder than the water in the Arctic. But we all loved it as we tried to fit all our family members inside. I will never forget my first introduction to seeing a chicken that I had named be put on the table for me to eat. Bo had a good chuckle when I was shocked to see the chicken was still alive after he chopped the head off.

My heart goes out to his family. I love and hug you all and I’m sorry for your loss.
