BACHELDER SHAW, Kathi
1958 - 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Kathi Bachelder Shaw at the Magog Hospital on October 20th, 2020, at the age of 62. Beloved wife of Terry Shaw and dear daughter of late Allyn Bachelder and the late Elizabeth Davis.
Kathi was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Kathi was the matriarch of our family and circle of friends. Those who knew Kathi never questioned her moral authority. Kathi was also the feistiest woman you would ever want to meet. Kathi’s door was always open, and she always made us feel like part of her family. She had a passion for animals and was happiest on her horse with friends by her side. One of her many talents was to light a cigarette on the back of a motorcycle going 50 miles an hour with a Bic! Kathi’s presence had a way of making people feel special and protected. Kathi leaves us all knowing that she helped us become a better person for knowing her.
Besides her spouse, Kathi leaves to mourn her children: Nathalie (Martin); her grand-children: Marika Shaw-Roy; her little angels: Allyn, Ryan and Heather. Her brothers and sisters: Charles Bachelder, Francis Bachelder and Sheryl Smith.
She also leaves her nieces and nephews: Maria, Sarah, Nick, Alec, Sarah, Emilie, Trevor, Becky, Stephanie, Jason, April, Phillis, Keith, Robbie, Whitney and Allyn and many great-nieces and nephews; her parent's in-law Kennith and Denise Shaw; her brother and sister in law: Jack Shaw (Nancy) and Mary Shaw (Guy); her uncles and aunts: Rollie and Marsha; other relatives and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her grand-parents Moody Davis & Phyllis Wormsley: her sister Leslie Buckland (Karl) and brother Blaine Bachelder.
A celebration of Kathi’s life will be held in the Spring of 2021.
The family wishes to thank Mary Shaw, Carmen Campbell, Paige Standish, Louis Gendron and many other family & friends for their kindness and support.
As a memorial tribute, donations on Kathi’s behalf, in memory of Joyce Dekker to the Frontier Animal Society, 2405, Griffin Rd, Ogden, Stanstead, QC, J0B 3E3, would be appreciated.
