It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Janie Gilbert Webster at the Hôtel Dieu Hospital in Sherbrooke, on June 1st, 2021, at the age of 74 years from Stanstead. Loving wife of 55 years to Mr. Leslie Webster. Daughter of the late Camille Gilbert and the late Pauline Julien.
Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her Aunt Irene Royer; her nephew Gary (Jackie); her nieces: Susie; Brenda (Billy), their son Jamy (Amanda); Elliot (Kim); her cousins: Michael (Kathy), Diane (Richard), Genève (Peter), as well as her friends: Rachel (Gilles), Lynn, Randy (Pat), Andy, Lawrence, Gordie (Tammy), Dave (Mary), Arlene as well as the entire family from Cass Funeral Homes. She also leaves numerous other relatives and many, many dear friends.
Janie was a wonderful and caring woman, loving everyone she met. She loved to travel with Leslie, spend time with friends, play cards, listen to music, cook for friends and take care of her home. Janie also spent many years devoted to the clients of Cass Funeral Home, caring and supporting families through very difficult times. But Janie’s true and lifelong passion was the Ayer’s Cliff Fair, she made it her mission to organize and make this fair the best it could be.
Visitation will take place at the Cass Funeral Home, 545, Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, J0B 3E0, on Saturday, June 12th, 2021, from 9 to 12 noon. Restrictions applying to Covid-19 will apply. A private funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Christ Church in Stanstead.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sherbrooke Animal Protection Society, 145 Sauvé Street, Sherbrooke, QC, J1L 1L6, or to the Christ Church of Stanstead, 550 Rue Dufferin, Stanstead, QC J0B 3E0, would be appreciated.
We extend our deepest sympathy to you. Janie was an amazing woman. Always smiling and ready to lend a helping hand where ever she was needed. We loved to hear her sing.The first time we heard her sing was at the Ayers Cliff Fair probably 40 years ago when she sang '' I've Got A Tiger By The Tail ''. She will be missed by so Many.
