HUNTING CARR, Gwendolyn Merle

1926 - 2021

It is with broken hearts that the family of Merle Carr, widow of Sydney Carr, announce her peaceful passing on August 12, 2021, in her 96th year, at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Survived by her daughters Brenda Lockerbie (John), Fredericton, NB; Donna Kerwin (Dave), Cambridge, ON and son Brian Carr (the late Marge), Edmonton, AB. Grandchildren Vicki Parker (Kenny), Melanie Ross (Chris), Anita Skilliter (Kevin), and Adam Kerwin (Andrea); five great-grandchildren and one niece.

Mom’s caring and compassionate nature was reflected in her long nursing career. She had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. Her love of music began at an early age when her mother taught her to play piano and she sang in her church choir for many years. Knitting was her passion and she supplied many family members with socks, mitts and sweaters.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents Clifford and Nettie Hunting, her brother Lloyd “Bud” Hunting and her grandson Ryan Lockerbie.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family is very grateful for the amazing care that Mom received at the Manoir St. Francis and the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Merle' Family

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I knew and worked with Merle at the hospital . She was always such a kind, caring soul----a great nurse.
