SMITH, Frances Pearl

1927 - 2021

It is with sadness that her family announces the passing of Frances Smith at Grace Village on Friday, May 7. Frances was the daughter of the late Albert Smith and the late Eva Nutbrown, and widow of Robert Smith. Frances was predeceased by her brother Gordon (Mildred) and Dorothy. She is survived by close family Wayne Nutbrown (Louise), Edna Stewart and Lucy Kinghorn, many nieces and nephews and friends.

Special thanks to Dr Ferenczi, Dr Provencher and the oncology department, Dr Robb and Dr Frazer, and also to Grace Village for the care Frances received. The family is very grateful to Louise Nutbrown and Patricia Robinson for the many hours spent with Frances during her illness and covid challenge.

Frances graduated from Bishops University and went onto teaching before she was married. She volunteered at Lennoxville Community Aid for many years.  Frances was well known for the love she had for quilting, gardening, and baking...mmmm her peanut butter pie! She was a devout member of the Lennoxville United Church. Frances also enjoyed cards, traveling, family gatherings, bowling ( both carpet and small ball) and a good fiddle tune.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Village, c/o resident support.

Due to the restrictions for Covid, a private service will be held by invitation only.

I remember Frances very well from her weekly visits to the bank. She was one of the nicest women you could talk too. Frances was a very interesting person and loved to help in any way she could. I always enjoyed serving her. We always found something to chat about. Frances will be missed dearly by her many friends and family.

Close relatives of Francis

she was such a kind gentle teacher. Boys used to try to get her angry which they did but she handled it in a great manner. RIP Sympathy to remaining family and friends

Close relatives

My deepest sympathy to you for the loss of a great lady and a great teacher. I agree with Judy (above). I well remember those high school years and the good memories of her classes.
