SMITH, Edward Fletcher

Edward Fletcher Smith passed away suddenly on November 16, 2023. Edward was born on July 14, 1946 in Providence, Rhode Island. His family moved to Quebec and settled in the Eastern Townships in 1965 and he became a Canadian citizen in 1972.

He was the son of the late Arthur D. Smith and the late Marion K. Smith, beloved father of Alexander, beloved twin brother of Frank (Merrylou), sisters Jean (deceased), Carolyn Mohns (Glen), Marion Valen, brother Arthur Jr., nieces Debbie, Maureen, Donna, and nephew David. A dedicated employee of Bishop's University, from 1969-2007, as a stationary engineman alongside his brother Frank (1971-2007) in the arena and boiler room until retirement in 2007.

In respect of Edward's wishes, there will not be a funeral.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada https://www.heartandstroke.ca.

I am so sadden to hear the passing of your Father he was a Good Friend and fellow work Ed and Frank were very Good at there Trade and taught me a lot we shared a lot of Good times while working and I will always remember your Dad for that .Rest in Peace Ed.
