It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carol, surrounded by her family on March 9,2022 at Maison Aube Lumière.
Beloved daughter of the late William Paterson and the late Winnifred Perkins. Predeceased by her husband Charles Nixon. Loving mother to Carie (Shawn Frost) and Vicki (Jason Morse). Cherished grandmother to Hannah, Paige, Sarah, River, Allison and Charlie. Dear sister of Robert (Debbie), Shirley (Danny), Don (Carole) and sister-in-law to Don (Anne) and Brenda (Johnny). Special companion of Joseph Chenevert and his family. Carol leaves to mourn many beloved nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principle St. S. Richmond, QC on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. where family and friends may visit and on Friday, March 18 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Richmond Melbourne United Church followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. with Charlotte Griffith officiating. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all the exceptional staff at Maison Aube Lumière for their compassion and loving care!
As memorial tributes, donations to La Maison Aube-Lumière would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Hand sanitizing and masks are required at all times.
My sincerest condolences to you all at this most difficult time. If my memory serves me right, I believe it was Carol who taught me how to square dance all those years ago. She had a kind and giving heart, another one that is gone too soon. I wish you peace and comfort as you grieve. Cherish all the good memories, my thoughts are with you.

My condolences and prayers are with the Patterson and Nixon families at this time of Carol's passing. I have fond memories of Carol as one of my favorite students in Grade 8 at Saint Francis. She had a twinkle in her eye for Chuck even then. I recall teasing her on different times and she would always blush and have a big smile on her face. Even as she became an adult and we were friends, she always referred referred to me as Mr. Mellish never Wayne. May she rest in peace.
