I had the pleasure to work under the supervision of Mrs. Irving on 3rd floor . She was so soft spoken,fair and full of grace. She wore her nursing cap with pride and dedication.She was an angel on earth to all who knew her. .She always welcomed us( Sherbrooke Hospital staff) to the meadow for that wonderful summer picnic & get-togethers. and the many others social functions she was involved in,she was the one who you never wanted to forget to visit with and she always made time to greet each of us.no matter where you fit on the totem pole of life.Truly remarkable women.
May all the love and memories be your strength for your tomorrows.

I am so very sad to read this obituary She was a beautiful lady and I find it hard to believe she was 88 I left Sherbrooke Hospital in 1975 so still think of her as being the age she was then
I can still " hear" her voice....

I always felt secure when she was the nursing supervisor on duty during my work shift and that I could always rely on her to help me with my more difficult nursing tasks.Whatever the nursing crisis was she always approached it with her special calm and kind manner. What a gracious lady she was.

"The Irving Girls" and their families

I worked at the Sherbrooke Hospital and got to know Mrs Irving and her girls that worked there. I had already known of them as we used to meet at the Armoury every Christmas, for the big Christmas party, when we were wee little ones.
Mrs. Irving always was calm, even under extreme pressure. She was soft spoken but could make everyone stop what they were doing, to hear what she had to say. I never saw the woman angry. Even when she scolded me, rightly so, for something that I should not have been doing, it was done with kindness.
She was very talented in knowing how to deal with people but she also had a talent for raising 7 beautiful people who also have parts of their Mom in them!!
My heart goes out to all of you at this most difficult of times. God bless you all.
