Aitken (née Houston), Margaret Cameron

AITKEN (NÉE HOUSTON), Margaret Cameron

1930 - 2020

Our mum took her last breath, at age 89, early on New Year’s Day, 2020, at the Grace Village, Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Wife of the late James I. Aitken, she will be sadly missed by her daughters Carol (Dave) and Avril (Bruce), her grandchildren Laird (Chauncey), Daniel (Courtney), Erin and Andrea (Mike) and her great grandchildren Lachlan, Rory, Wren and Lyle.

She was born in Glasgow, Scotland and emigrated to Montreal, Quebec in 1957.

A lover of language, cats and tennis she was a devoted employee of the TDBank for many years, where she was known as Maggie by her colleagues.

She was a longtime member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, St. Lambert and more recently St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Lennoxville.

The family are profoundly grateful to the team at the Grace Village for their care and compassion.

The moving finger writes, and on having writ, moves on.

Carole, Avril and Family

Hello! My name is Judith. I am a Caregiver at Grace. I was in an automobile accident a few months back and thus, have not been to work for awhile. I often inquire into our residents when I visit or call so found out that your dear Mother had passed. I didn't have the opportunity of seeing her recently but I do know that she was so loved and cared for by her family. I am very sorry for your loss and know how much she will be missed. I just wanted to send my condolences and tell you that I always admired your support and understanding of your Mother's needs & knew she was greatly loved. I believe in Heaven and Life after ours so if it brings any comfort to you, may we remember that "they that love God will never meet for the last time." She's in Good Hands and I am sure there was a great welcome for her when she arrived. God bless and keep you and your family in His Loving Care, Sincerely, Judith Yonan
