1949 - 2024
C'est avec le cœur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Hazel (Mastine) Pezzi, qui nous a quittés le 30 mai 2024 (à l'âge de 74 ans), entourée de sa famille à La Maison Aube Lumière après une courte mais courageuse bataille contre le cancer. Hazel est née le 19 juillet 1949 à Kingsey Falls, la plus jeune des 17 enfants de feu Ida Gwendolyn Bradford et de feu Eddie Nelson Mastine.
Le 5 avril 1969, Hazel a épousé l'amour de sa vie, Ariosto (Harry) Pezzi, mariés depuis 55 ans, ils se sont construits une belle vie à Danville. Épouse dévouée et mère aimante de trois enfants : Tina (Steve Bilodeau), Mark (Karen Painter) et Mike (Julie Langlois). Sa vie a été enrichie par ses sept petits-enfants adorés : Bradley, Bryanna, Brayden, Brandyce, Chase, Cole et Dawson. Elle a également accueilli ses beaux-petits-enfants, Casey et Brianna.
Elle était la sœur de feu Margaret (feu Harold Blake), feu Stanley (feu Ethel), feu Clifford (Joyce), Blanche (feu Nelson Mastine), feu Everett (Eileen), feu Harold (Shirley), Raymond (Elizabeth), Marjorie (Lloyd Doyle), John (Barbara), Dorothy (Roy Bushey), et elle est toujours restée la « petite sœur » de sa famille nombreuse et aimante.
Elle était la belle-sœur de Raffaella (feu Natale Tallarico), Elio (Madeleine), feu Marisa (feu Baldassare Calandrino), Pierino (feu Michelle) et Licia (feu Antonio Falcone).
Elle laisse également dans le deuil de nombreux cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces, autres parents et amis. La famille et les amis de Hazel se souviendront d'elle pour son amour sans bornes, sa générosité et son dévouement.
Résidente de Danville pendant la majeure partie de sa vie, Hazel était connue pour son amour du shopping et son soutien indéfectible aux activités et collectes de fonds communautaires locales. Elle était une présence familière et chérie à de nombreux événements, toujours prête à donner un coup de main et à contribuer à des causes qui lui tenaient à cœur, notamment en participant à des événements de scrapbooking comme "Create For Comfort", une collecte de fonds pour La Maison Aube-Lumière. Elle était l'un des membres fondateurs de la Mastine Family Association (MFA), axée sur le rapprochement de la famille tout en préservant son histoire, et a siégé à son comité exécutif pendant les 34 dernières années. Elle trouvait une immense joie dans sa famille, et son héritage de gentillesse et de force vivra à travers eux.
Les visites auront lieu à la Résidence funéraire Cass, 295 Principale Sud, Richmond, le vendredi 7 juin de 14 h à 17 h et de 19 h à 21 h, ainsi que le samedi 8 juin de 11 h à 13 h. Le service funéraire aura lieu à l'église anglicane St-Augustine de Danville à 14 h, suivi de l'inhumation au cimetière protestant de Danville. Les parents et amis sont les bienvenus à se joindre à la famille pour un goûter qui sera servi à la salle paroissiale de l'église St-Augustine.

We join many others who knew Aunt Hazel in offering our deepest sympathy for her passing. Although it is little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that you can celebrate her life knowing that she enjoyed and shared it with so many. She was always full of life and had such an uplifting presence when she was in a room.
An American philosopher, Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, “It is not length of life, but depth of life.” Michael and I believe that the measure of a life well-lived is not in how much money one has or what possessions they have accumulated, but rather through the lives one touched and the sorrow one leaves behind. If the outpouring of sympathy on the loss of Aunt Hazel is any indication, and it most certainly is, you can proudly and confidently say that she had a life well-lived.
May you find peace and comfort in knowing that this loss is felt by all who knew and loved her.

Our condolences to you all. Hazel was a very special lady who loved life. She especially liked to go shopping when there were some sale days or any event that was happening in the area. She will be missed by many.

Aunt Hazel was the best Godmother, passionate about my well being and sharing life experiences to make mine better.
Words cannot express how much I will miss her . This saying hangs on my wall and I will think of her every time I read it.
Broken Chain
We little New, the day that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, and death we do the same.
It broke her heart to lose you, but you don’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day got called you home.
You left us peaceful memories.
Your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken. And nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all that I miss her. She was truly one of a kind.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to your family. We know how it is to loss someone you hold dear and love so much. Aunt Hazel put her heart, sole and passion in to everything she did and it shows by the many peoples lives she touched.
She leaves us all with very fond memories like many excitable games of spoons, playing cards and more. Though Aunt Hazel may be physically gone, she will always live on in the memories and stories you tell to the friends, family and generations to come. We can't be there with you to support you but know we send our thoughts, prayers, love and hugs your way.
