Martel , Bertrand

(1935 – 2017)

At the CHUS Fleurimont, April 1st, 2017, Mr. Bertrand Martel, husband of Alberta Morse, son of the late Laurette Longpré and the late olive Martel.
Visitation will be held at the Résidence Funéraire Windsor, 310 St-Georges, Windsor on Saturday Mai 6, 2017 from 10 am to 1 pm. Followed by the service  at 1 pm. Burial at a later date.
Mr. Bertrand Martel leaves to mourn his son Francis and his step children Michel, Deanna and Adrien, his grandchildren Amanda and Sara. Bertrand was the brother of Pauline (Fernand), Georges (Dianne), Rollande (André), Thérèse, the late Jean-Marc (the late Rachael), the late Richard (Lenis), Rolland (Diane), Madeleine (Marc), Francine (Robert), Lise and Luc (Ginette). He also leaves to mourn his in-laws Roseleen (Keyworth), Elaine (Douglas) and Aylmer and also many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.


Marlin (née Stewart), Dorothy Pearl

February 9, 1918- March 3, 2017

Dorothy Marlin of Waterville, Quebec passed away peacefully on March 3, 2017 at Grace Village. Loving wife of the late Elwood Marlin.

Loving mother to James (Celine), Sylvia (David) and Terry (Lynn). Cherished grandmother to Melissa, Genevieve, Marc, Jennifer and Ryan, a great grandmother to Adam. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews, her sisters Lucy Kinghorn at Grace Village, Edna Stewart-Beattie and Doris Clouston at the family farm in St-Pierre Broughton. 

The family wishes to thank all the staff of the Grace Village for their kindness and care and special friend Linda Pelser.

A private graveside service will be held at Malvern Cemetery at a later date.    


Morrison (née Pope), Helen Elspeth

February 7,1917-February 12, 2017

Helen passed away on February 12, 2017 at the age of 100, at the  Centre de Santé in East Angus, Quebec.

She was the loving wife of the late Gordon Wadsworth Morrison. She will be deeply missed by her son John. Helen was predeceased by her son Michael.  

Helen was a long time resident of Sherbrooke and a member of St. Peter's Church and St. Georges Church choirs. For approximately 30 years she was employed as a secretary to the late Mr. Joseph E. Casaar. She was an accomplished cook and loved to entertain. Another favorite interest was following professional tennis matches.

Special thanks are extended to the staff at The Centre de Santé for their attentive care.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in Montreal, where she resided for about 20 years, at a later date.


Morrison Nielsen , Vera

It is with great sadness that the family of Vera Morrison Nielsen announces her passing on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at the age of 81 years.

Vera, wife of the late Orla Nielsen, will be lovingly remembered by her children, Garry, Penny and Brenda (Henry); her six grandchildren, Shawn (Courtney), Brandon, Kiersten, Danika (Steven), Kyla and Ryley; and her great grandson Chase.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1st, 2017 at the Cass Funeral Home, 15 Station, Sawyerville, QC, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM  and on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from  1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM.  Rev.Tami Spires officiating. Interment in the Eaton Cemetery at a later date.

Donations to the Eaton Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 934, Cookshire-Eaton, QC, J0B 1M0, would be appreciated by the family.


Martin Goodsell, Alice Bertha

1937 – 2017

Passed away peacefully at the CSSS Memphremagog, on Wednesday January 26, 2017 at the age of 79.  

Cherished wife of Raymond Goodsell, a loving mother to Paul (Micheline), Suzanne and Carmen (Michael) and a dear grandmother to Jeffrey (Émilie), Scott (Marie-Éve), Jessica (Yannick), Jennifer (Jerome) and Lindsay (David).  She was a proud and precious great-grandmother to Norah, Alice, Loucas, Lydia, Daphney and Hunter.  She will be missed by her brother Roland Martin (Jeanine), brother in-laws Tom Richer and Léopold Lacroix (Gisèle) as well as many nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.

Resting at Cass Funeral Home, 545, Dufferin, Stanstead, where family and friends may call on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.   A celebration of life will follow at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Bannerman palliative care unit at the Magog hospital for the amazing care and attention given to Alice, as well as to the wonderful staff at the CSSS Memphrémagog (3e hébergement) for their many years of endless dedication and care.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Magog Hospital Foundation, long term care unit, 50, St-Patrice East street, Magog (Quebec), J1X 3X3, would be appreciated by the family.


Mitchell Jr. , Malcolm

 

February 18th, 1949 - January 10th, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Malcolm Mitchell Jr. on January 10, 2017, beloved son of Barbara Stevenson Smith (Bill Smith) and the late Malcolm Mitchell Sr.

He leaves to mourn his loving siblings Bryan (Donna Houseman) Mary, Jane, Susan (Vince Pare) and Martha (Frank Roy); his nieces and nephews Razvan (Godson), Lara, Michael, Patrick, Jessica, Kendra, David, Andrew, Catherine and Jennifer; as well as his close friend Cathy Loubert, and many other friends.

Malcolm was a kind, caring person who was always willing to help others. He was an excellent mechanic, passionate about cars and enjoyed drag racing in his younger years. We will miss him deeply

A visitation will be held at the Lennoxville United Church, 6 Church Street, Lennoxville, on Saturday January 14th from 1 pm to 2 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm, with the Reverend Linda Buchanan officiating. Interment in the Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 100-2630 King Ouest, Sherbrooke, QC, J1J 2H1, would be appreciated by the family.


Morin Veilleux, Gabrielle

1941 – 2016

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gabrielle Morin Veilleux at the Palliative care unit of the Magog hospital on December 13, 2016 at the age of 75. Dear wife of the late Raoul Veilleux.

She leaves to mourn her children: Nancy (Jason Whitehead), Louis (Emily Johnston) and Charles; her grandchildren: Christian, Karina, Zachary, Hannah, Alek, William and Xavier; her brothers and sisters: Mariette (Bérard Gauthier), Clémence (Anatole Joly), Jules (Louise Lavallière), Renée-Paule (Gilles Turgeon), Simone and Huguette.  She was predeceased by her brothers Jean-Louis (Mariette Bouffard) and Léonard (late Ghislaine Bolduc).  She will sadly be missed by her brothers in law and sisters in law: Fernande (late Gilles Charron), Roland (Yvette Charest), Ronald (Carmen Charest), Mariette (late Iréné Roy), Simone (late Yvon Charron), Robert, Réal and Monique (Jean-Marie Morin).  She was a sister in law to the late Juliette (late Gérard Letourneau) and the late Rémi (Jeanne Whipple).  She will be missed as well by many cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Cass funeral home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm; and on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 9 am to 10:45 am.  Funeral services will follow at 11 am at the Sacré-Cœur Church in Stanstead.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the caregivers of the palliative care unit at the Magog hospital for the excellent care given to Mrs. Morin Veilleux.  Donations to the volunteer group « L’envolée » of the palliative care unit of the Magog hospital, 50, rue St-Patrice Est, Magog (Québec) J1X 3X3, would be appreciated by the family.


Mackay, Mabel

1919-2016

Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Morrison Residence in Sawyerville, in her 98th year. Loving wife of the late Douglas Mackay.

Mabel is survived by her children Garth (Marian Bain), Ross (Hélène Crête) and Wendy (Ross Aulis); her grandchildren Sean, Shari (Blair), Christopher, Karine (Erick) and Julie (Tyler); her great-grandchildren Maélie, Andrew and Noémie; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Arthur, Jessie, Bill, Arnold and Howard.

Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 15 Station, Sawyerville, where family and friends may visit on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 7 pm to 9pm, and on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 10 am to 11 am, followed by the funeral service at 11 am. Interment in the Eaton Cemetery.


Mosher, Wendle

Wendle L. Mosher, 85, a life-long resident of Ayer’s Cliff, Quebec, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 22, 2016 in Magog surrounded by his family.  He was born on June 23, 1931 in Boynton, Quebec to Lawrence & Ruth (Rever) Mosher.

He was a farmer his entire life and a true horseman.  He loved dealing in cattle & horses and owned hundreds throughout his lifetime.  He also loved racing Standardbreds for a span of over 50 years.  He knew horses inside & out.  Working in the woods with a team of horses always made him smile.  

He was extremely hard working and his family meant the world to him.  He would light up anytime there was a baby around.  He was a proud father and grandfather.  Wendle also had a special relationship with his uncle Kenneth Mosher who passed away in 2009.

He is survived by his four children.  His wife Rose-Marie and their two daughters, Hollie (Terry) Mosher of Ayer’s Cliff, Quebec and Lee (Luke) Mosher of South Stukley, Quebec, and two sons, Casey (Tammy) Mosher & Todd (Danielle) Mosher and their mother Anna Forbes, all of Derby, Vermont.  He is also survived by his six grandchildren Alex, Brianna, Brian, Madison, Cash and Knight, and one great-granddaughter Sophie (Brian).  Surviving siblings are Sis, Dewey, Ruby, Hilda and Larry.  He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Colon Mosher and his nephew Dale Mosher.  

Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 900, Clough St. Ayer’s Cliff, on Friday, October 28th, 2016 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 29th from 12 to 1:30 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at the Beulah United Church, Ayer’s Cliff, on October 29th at 2 p.m. Rev Lee Ann Hogle officiating. Interment in the United Church Cemetery Ayer’s Cliff.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donationsbe made to the Alzheimer’s Association.


Munroe, Doreen

1936 -2016

Mrs. Doreen Munroe passed away the CHUS-Hôtel Dieu on Thursday October 20, 2016 at the age of 80. She was married to the late Lucien Bilodeau.

Mrs. Munroe leaves to mourn her loving children Lee (Terri), Lisa (Dale), Laurie-Ann (Rick), Lindy (Mark), Lucie (William) and Lois (Mark).  She was a cherished grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of 5.  She will sadly be missed by her sister Carolyn and many other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodside cemetery in Stanstead (Beebe).
