Gibson Goodsell, Beverley

1940 – 2017

Beverley Gibson Goodsell passed away suddenly on December 14, 2017 at home. Daughter to the late Howard Gibson and the Late Elinor Martin.  Brother to the Late Barry Gibson.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband and best friend, Ronald Goodsell. Her children Julie (Russ), Jerry, Jeffrey (Angela), Jody (John) and her beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Jayden, Jordan, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jasmine and Janice.

Also left to mourn are her in-laws, the Goodsell family:  Maurice (Carmen) Goodsell, the Late Doris Goodsell (Fred Slack), the late Roger Goodsell (Darlene) and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her many friends, the community and especially by her line dancing team.

Visitation will be held at the Cass Funeral home, 545, Dufferin St, Stanstead, QC, J0B 3E0, on Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. followed by a tribute to her life.

Gee Griffith , Winnifred

Winnifred Griffith (Gee) died peacefully at 85 years old on Thursday afternoon November 23, 2017 at the Wales Home in Richmond, Quebec, surrounded by her husband Royce, family and caring staff.
Winnifred, dear sister of Brian (Joan) and the late David (Gayle), was the first born child of the late William and Annie Gee (Hughes). She was born March 25, 1932 at the family farm in Gore where she spent 55 of her 85 years. Winnifred met Royce on the first day of the second grade at the Gore schoolhouse and they married on September 24, 1955. Two years later they were blessed with their first child, Jennifer (Geoff Webber), who sadly predeceased her. Winnifred and Royce's family continued to grow, with the additions of Peter (Charlotte Beattie), and Douglas (Allison Beattie).
Winnifred will be missed by her many grandchildren, Anne, Erin (Matthew Toth), Kyle (Marie-Pierre Bégin), Amber (Eamonn Waters), Robin (Andrea Jung), Jamie, Alexander, Jessica and Kathleen, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Élizabeth and Liam, and many long-time friends.
Until her health no longer allowed, Winnifred was actively involved with the Richmond-Melbourne United Church.  As well, she dedicated much of her life volunteering at the Wales Home, and was a life member of the Gore Women’s Institute.
On Friday December 1st from 7 to 9 pm, visitation will take place at the Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principale Sud, Richmond. On Saturday December 2nd, visitation will take place at 10 am at the Richmond-Melbourne United Church 247 Principale Sud, followed by the funeral at 11 am.

Gingras, André

(1937-2017)

After a long battle with heart disease, André left us for a more peaceful life in heaven.  He passed away peacefully at the CHUS Fleurimont, Sherbrooke, on September 21, 2017 in his 80th year.
Loving companion of Virginia Malette of 45 years. Beloved father of Gabriel (Manon), Melina, Kathleen and Eric. Stepfather to Julie (Yvon), John (Lisa), Claude, Hélène (André).  Survived by his Brother Mario, his sister Françoise (Denis), his sisters in law Karen (Larry), Helen (Glenn), his brothers in law Charles (Céline) and Dennis (Julie). Son of the late Henri Louis Gingras and Lucie St-Hilaire and predeceased by his brother Yvon. M. Gingras also leaves to mourn his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.
A special thank you to Rachel Houle at C.L.S.C. for her support during his illness. Also thank you to 7c and 10c at the CHUS Fleurimont.
Resting at Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principal South, Richmond, on Friday September 29, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Saturday September 30, 2017 from 10 to 11 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am in the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Ste-Anne’s Cemetery in Richmond.


Gagnon Connolly , Jeannette

(1922-2017)

Passed away at the Hôpital et Centre d'hébergement d'Youville, on August 29, 2017, at the age of 95, Mrs. Jeannette Gagnon, beloved wife of the late Almen Connolly.  She is predeceased by her parents,  Albert Gagnon and Alma Boulanger, and her son, George.
Dear mother of Stella, Edouard (Louise Gilbert), Lawrence (Céline Tardif), Nelson (Doris Juergens) and Donald, grandmother of Karen, Cindy, Laurie-Jean, Larry, Audrey, Gabrielle and Simone and great grandmother of James, Lily, Kaylee and Myah. She was the sister of Madeleine (the late Laval Bélanger, the late Léo Allard, the late Léo Boudreau), Antoinette (the late André Dubreuil), Marie Laure (the late Jean Rock Laberge), Sister Claire Gagnon, the late Hilaire (Claire Couture), the late Éloi (Loraine Bédard),  the late Céline (Anselme Couture), Gabrielle (the late Maurice Deneault), Mariette (the late Yvon Tremblay), Alfreda (Gaétan Messier) et Jean-Noël (Francine Breton). Mrs. Gagnon was the sister-in-law of the late Archie (the late Annie Custeau) and the late Olive.  She leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews and other extended family  and friends.
Resting at Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St., Sherbrooke on Tuesday September 5, 2017 from 1 to 2:30 pm. The Funeral service will be held at St-Patrick Church, Sherbrooke on Tuesday September 5, 2017 at 3pm. Interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Vitae Foundation for Youville Pavillion (375 Argyll Street, Sherbrooke, Qc, J1J 3H5).


Gunter , Madison Paige

Passed away at her home on Sunday June 18th 2017, Madison Gunter at the age of 16.
Cherished daughter of Scott Gunter and Tracy Cote. Loving sister of Ashlie and Kolton Gunter, and precious granddaughter of Raymond (Pete) Cote and Judy Pike and of Merlin Gunter and Mary Lodge. Madison also leaves to mourn, her uncles: Mark Cote (Lianne) and Rodney Gunter (Connie), her aunt Holly Gunter (Rock), her many cousins, relatives and friends, along with her dear friend Daphnee Boudreau and family.
Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principale S. Richmond where friends may visit on Sunday, June 25th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the Danville-Asbestos Trinity United Church, Grove St. Danville, on Monday June 26th at 11 am with Rev. Reginald Jennings officiating. Please note: the family will be receiving condolences at the church 1 hour prior to the service.


Gillam , Russell James

Russell Gillam, age 81, passed away suddenly and peacefully at his home in Lennoxville on June 9.
Loving husband of Ruth, father of Steve (Glenn), Debbie (Mike), the late Donna (Rob) and Jeff (Kim).  Proud grandfather and great-grandfather.  Remembered by surviving brothers, sister, family and friends.
Visitation on Thursday, June 15 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Cass Funeral Home on 3006 College St, Sherbrooke (Lennoxville).  A service celebrating Russell’s life to be held Friday, June 16 at 2:00PM at Lennoxville United Church.
Memorial donations to Lennoxville United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated.


Gagne, Dora

 (1932-2017)

Passed away at the Centre d’Hébergement Argyll, on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the age of 84. She is survived by her sisters Florence and Lucille and predeceased by her parents Nell and Ted Gagne and her sisters Elsie, Irene and Helen. Dora also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews.

 A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 4 pm at the Grace United Brookbury Cemetery.


Gerald, Lepitre

1921-2016

 Passed away at the CSSS Memphrémagog on June 15th, 2016 in his 95th year.  Beloved husband of the late Carrie Laro Lepitre.

Gerald leaves to mourn his sons Larry (Mary) and Gerald (Maxine); his grandchildren Jeff (Grace), Justin (Marianne) and Sirena (Matt) as well as by his great grandchildren: Eliane, Kristen, Danielle, Leo and Thea.  He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gerald was predeceased by his brothers and sister Arthur, Valmore, John, Wilfred, Rose and Robert.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Susie, Steve and Marie-Ève from the CLSC as well as to the staff at the Palliative care unit at the Memphremagog hospital for the wonderful care and compassion provided to Gerald.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 1st, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the Cass Funeral Home, 545, Dufferin St., Stanstead. A celebration of life will follow at the funeral home with Rev. Barbara Wintle officiating.  Interment will take place at a later date.


Gustin Harrison, Mildred

1949-2016.  

Mildred Gustin Harrison passed away suddenly on January 31st, 2016 at the CHUS-Fleurimont in her 66th year.  Loving wife of Kenneth Harrison from Ayer’s Cliff, Mildred is predeceased by her parents Bernal Gustin and Margaret Higginson as well as her sister Edna (Stanley).

She leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters: Mary-Lou, Laura (late Clifford), Avon (Nancy), Richard (Colleen), Harold (Nicole), Danny (Lynn) and Marilyn (Larry). She also will be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

To honour Mildred’s wishes a private funeral service will be held in the spring.


Gauthier, George

1925 – 2016.  Passed away peacefully at Les Jardins de Magog residence, on January 15th, 2016 at the age of 90.  George had a successful career working in the military, the RCMP and in security at Vickers Shipyard in Montreal.  

George leaves to mourn his loving wife of 63 years Phyllis Rowe; his children Bob (Ruth), Anne and Susan (Serge); his grandchildren Eric, Mark and Daniel Gauthier, Jaime and Christie Pearce and Chlöe Shahinian; his great-grandson Benjamin Schwalb. He also leaves his sisters-in-law Pauline (Bob) and Caroline (late Bruce), nieces and nephew and many caring friends, as well Chuck the cat.

As requested by George, a simple graveside ceremony honouring his life with family and friends, will be held in the spring at the St-Thomas Westbury Cemetery (East Angus).

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Jacques Trudel, the very considerate and attentive staff of Les Jardins de Magog, home caregiver Suzi, as well as the many caregivers from the CLSC.
