DeNora Labrecque, Myles

Passed away peacefully in his 25th year on October 26, 2017, at 5:25 pm Saskatchewan time at the Regina General Hospital with his mother Ngaire DeNora by his side. Myles sustained two very serious brain injuries after an ATV accident on October 8 and never regained consciousness. 

Myles is the cherished and beloved son of Ngaire DeNora and the late Joseph Alfred Labrecque. He is the cherished grandson of John DeNora and Nancy Stewart and the late Elinor DeNora, the late Gladys Audrey Parr Labrecque and Joseph Clifford Labrecque. Myles will be remembered with love by his uncles Sean (Helene), Miles (Marianne), Peter (Emily), Phil (the late Diana), his aunts Sally (Kevin), Gill, Helen, Beverly, Joyce, Shirley, and his great-aunts Mary, Pat (the late Roger), Linda (Gordon), and Yolanda (Bill), and all their families.

Myles will be sadly missed by his girlfriend, Karinda Dawn, of Kipling, Saskatchewan, and remembered fondly by his brother Allan Labrecque and numerous cousins, particularly Adam, Johan, Elinor, Cheryl, Brenda, Shelley, Sarah, Todd (Nancy), Meghan, Colin, Chris, Seth and Ryan.

Myles has incredibly loyal and good friends because he was an incredibly loyal and good friend, to Dan Sylvester, Nathan Johan, Mike Dutka, Jane Millar, Cameron Winter, Corey Winter, Corey Wilson, Sam Godbout, Adam Patton, and Jessie Cunningham, to name only a few of those who are heartbroken by their loss.

Myles learned welding in Lennoxville and had a successful career in that profession, first at Wulftec in Ayer’s Cliff and then with Seed Hawk in Saskatchewan. He was an enthusiastic self-taught guitar player and owned several different guitars. He was always active and enjoyed life to the fullest. A celebration of Myles’ life will be held on Saturday, November 18, at Cass Funeral Home (545 Dufferin St, Stanstead). Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm, followed by a service at 3 pm. A reception will follow at the Stanstead Royal Canadian Legion on Maple Street from 4:30 to 7:00.

Davis Powers, Joanne

1931 -2017

Passed away at CSSS Memphrémagog on October 26, 2017, at the age of 76.   Loving wife to the late Wallace Powers and daughter of the late Moody Davis and the late Phyllis Wormsley.

Mrs. Davis leaves to mourn her children Melville (Judy), Phyllis and Jason (Sabrina).  She is predeceased by her daughter Lorie (Wayne).  She will be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

The family and friends will gather at the Cass funeral Home, 545, Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.   A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

The family extends its heartfelt appreciation to caregivers at the CHLSD Memphremagog.

Duquette, Marie-Laure

 1921 -2017

Marie-Laure Duquette passed away peacefully at the Magog Hospital on September 21, 2017 at the age of 95, wife of the late Réal Bouffard from a first marriage and of the late Joseph Maclure from a second marriage.

Visitation will occur at the Cass funeral Home, 545, Dufferin St, Stanstead, Qc, on Friday September 29, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday September 30, 2017 from 11:00 to 11:50 a.m.    Funeral services will follow at 12:00 a.m. at the Sacré-Coeur Church in Stanstead.  Interment at the Mont-Ste-Marie cemetery.

Mrs. Duquette leaves to mourn her children Roger (Louisa Tétreault), Claude, Claudette (Denis Dandelin), André (Jocelyne Fortin) and Denise (Donald Goodsell).  She also leaves her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Nathalie Langelier and Nathalie Bouffard,  as well as to the caregivers at the CHLSD Memphrémagog and the Sanborn residence in Ayer’s Cliff for the excellent care given to our mother.

Dowers Gillick, Dorothy Emily

Passed away at La Providence Memphremagog Hospital, on Sunday, June 25th in her 93rd year.   A Service of Celebration will be held at Beulah United Church, Ayer’s Cliff on Thursday, June 29th at 2 pm.  Visitation in the church from 1 pm to 2 pm.  The burial at Ayer’s Cliff Cemetery will happen immediately following the service.  Dorothy was the Executive Secretary to Johnson & Johnson in Montreal.  Dorothy retired in Ayer’s Cliff where she lived a full live with her cat Pashna.  Dorothy was very active in the 50 Plus club in Ayer’s Cliff for many years as the President.  She will be missed by special relatives and friends.  In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to your favorite charity.

Duncan, Natalie

1962 - 2017

Natalie Lynne Duncan passed away suddenly at her home in Stanstead on the 15th of April 2017 at the age of 54 years. She was born in Sitka, Alaska.

She is survived by her spouse Paul Cousineau, her daughter Allessa Duncan-Clair, her parents Paul and Dorothy Duncan, her brothers Greg Duncan (Susan Hovey), Bruce Duncan, her sister Lynnea Duncan (Isabelle Gingras), her niece Erin Duncan, the Cousineau family and other relatives and friends. 

The family wishes to thank the members of the Graham family for their kindness and support. 

Everyone will always remember her generosity, kindness and compassion. In respect of the wishes of the family, there will be no public ceremony. The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.

1947 - 2017

Mrs. Shirley Danforth Roy passed away at the CSSS Memphremagog on Monday, March 6, 2017 at the age of 69, formally from the Canton of Stanstead.  Dearly beloved wife of Philippe Roy and daughter of the late Maurice Danforth and the late Marie-Jeanne Cormier.

Mrs. Danforth Roy leaves to mourn her children: Daniel (Paula), Henri (Louise), Donna (Denis), Chantal (Danny), Nicole (Normand), Gisèle (Sylvain), Alain (Mélanie), Denis (Valérie) and Nancy (Rick) as well as her grandchildren: Trisha, Karina, Nadia, Valérie, Mike, Martin, Patricia, Sébastien, Philippe, Claudia, Yann, Vanessa, Johanie, Audrey, Roxanne, Antony, Kathya, Tommy, Kasandra, Jakob, Sabrina, Cédrick, Nicolas, Félix, Coralie, Loïc Kayla, Logan and their spouses.  She also leaves her great-grandchildren: Léa (T), Léa (R), Médérick, Olivia, Malick , Charlie and Baby Roy on the way.  She leaves her brother David and sister Vye (late Robert).  She is predeceased by her sisters Marguerite (late Marcel), Louise and Cora. She will be missed by her brothers and sisters in-law: Florence (Marcel), Denise (Annette), Yvette, Cécile (Bill) Jacinthe (Marcel), Jean-Paul (Louise), Madeleine, Fernand (Carole), François, Solange (René), Rachel (Guy), Carmen (Pierre), Ginette, Céline (Gérard) and Camil.  She is also predeceased by her brothers and sister in law Robert (Vye), Raymonde and Ginette.  She also leaves to mourn Carmel, Rosaire, Jean and Lucille as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Cass funeral Home, 545, Dufferin, Stanstead, on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday March 11, 2017 from 8:30 to 9:50 a.m.   Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the St-Ephrem Church in Fitch Bay.  Interment at the Fitch Bay cemetery.

Drew, Aileen


Passed away peacefully at the Coaticook Hospital, on February 6, 2017, surrounded by her family in her 96th year.

Left to mourn are her children Margaret (Art Côté), Barbara, James (Debbie Hartley) Larry, John, Mary Ellen (Joe Mackey) and Terry (Barbara Guthrie), her 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughters June (Bill Mills) and Nancy.

A graveside service will be held on May 27, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Reedsville Cemetery, North Hatley, with Reverend Heather Thomson officiating.

A reception will follow at the Army Navy Airforce (Hut), 300 St. Frances, Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) J1M 0B3.

Desbiens, Marcel

1947 – 2017

Passed away at the CSSS Memphrémagog on Friday, February 3 2017 at the age of 69.  Beloved husband of Elizabeth Brier and son of the late Eudore Desbiens and Julienne Isabelle.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 17, 2017.  Visitation will occur at the Cass funeral Home, 545, Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, from noon to 2 p.m.  Interment will follow at the Mont Ste-Marie cemetery in Stanstead.

He leaves to mourn his children: François (Jinny), Mathieu, Roger (Kosta) and Marc; his grandchildren: Marie-Soleil, Percevale and Éthan; his stepchildren: Tara (Michel) and Jonathan (Roxanne) and step-grandchildren Logan and Liam.

Dear brother of Pauline (Roger Vachon), Michel (Jo-Ann Macfarlane), Ginette (George Grapsas), Johanne (Guy Ledoux), Francine, Yvon and Serge. He is predeceased by his sister and brothers: Marielle (Alex Bernais), Denis, Daniel and Mario.  He also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Dezan, Richard

1947 - 2017

Richard Dezan passed away peacefully at his home in Ayer’s Cliff on January 26, 2017 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Eileen Fee and son of the late Lawrence Dezan and Madeleine Tyler.

Richard was a cherished father to Chris (Marie-Eve), Cheryl (Darcy) and Crystal (Frederic) and a dear Grandpa to Jayden, Madelyne, Colin, Ethan, Melody, Nicolas and Dominic.  He also leaves to mourn his sister Joyce (Eric) and brothers and sisters in law Ron (Beryl), Warren (Petra), Elizabeth, Audrey (Russell) and Sandra (Neal).  He will sadly be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Cass funeral Home, 900, Clough, Ayer’s Cliff, QC, on Tuesday January 31, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  A memorial service will follow at the funeral home.

The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Prévoir kidney clinic of the CHUS, especially Dr. Langlois.  Another special thank you to the 24-hour palliative care service through the CLSC in Magog, more specifically to nurse Jesabelle and Dr. Masse.

Doyle, Sheila Ann


Passed away at the Foyer Richmond, on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at the age of 70. Daughter of the late Francis Doyle and the late Thelma O’Donnell.

She leaves to mourn her children Shelley and Christopher Stevens (Rebecca Younge); her grandchildren Lochlan and Callum Stevens; her brothers Bill and Charlie Doyle; and her cousin Mark Murphy (Marilyn); as well as her other family members and friends. Predeceased by her brothers John, James and Michael Doyle.

Visitation will take place at the St-Bibiane Catholic Church, 970 Principale N. Richmond, QC, on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interement in the St-Bibiane Cemetery.
