Buckland Sharman , Gladys

(1923-2017)

Gladys Arlene Buckland Sharman residing at the Grace Village in her 95th year passed away after a long fulfilling life.
Gram as she was affectionately known by all was an avid knitter, traveller and a baby rocker. Gram was always a fighter. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her will remember her bear hugs and kisses and of course your feet will never be cold with those awesome slippers.
Beloved mother to Alan (Beverly), Brenda (Rodney Kent) and the late Rhonda. Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Many thanks to all who had a part in her care and to the Porch Dollies may you always enjoy the sun on your face and the ice cream on your chin.  
As a long time resident of North Hatley, donations to the Massawippi Foundation, Box 2582, North Hatley, QC J0B 2C0, would be appreciated.  
A private family graveside service has been held.


Arnottt , Katherine


Kathy passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the CHUS Fleurimont.  
Born  November 15, 1932 in Verdun Quebec. Daughter of Florence (Vickers) and Neil Arnott.
Beloved mother of Richard Stott.  Predeceased by her sons,  Steven, Dale and Gary.
Kathy will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Cory (Marie), Jesse (Pam), Stephanie (Gerhard Schirmacher), Rebecca (Andrea  Bianchi) and great-grandchildren, Ella, Aiden, Loey, Riley, Mila, Jeremy, Alessandro, and Anita.
Survived by her brother Walter Arnott (Pierrette Legendre), nephews Glenn (Louise)  and Russell (Sharon) Dave Corey (late Joanne Arnott), and Michael Quigley (Susan) and her aunt Elsie (Vickers) Kerr.
Visitation will take place at the Trenholm United Church, # 96  Rte. 243, St. Felix de Kingsey, QC on Tuesday, July 25 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service.  Rev. Reginald Jennings officiating.
Interment will take place later that day at the Maple Cemetery, Richmond (Melbourne).  If desired donations in memory of Kathy can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Trenholm United Church.


Moore , Austin Mark

(1953-2017)

Passed away peacefully at the CHUS Hôtel-Dieu Sherbrooke, on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the age of 64. Son of the late George Moore and the late Jessie McKinnon.


Austin leaves to mourn his brothers and sisters: John (Wanda), James, Winnifred (Mark), George Jr. (Linda), William, Alberta (Jacques), Alfred (Brenda), Frederick (France) and Gordon (Diane). He also leaves many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  


 A private burial will take place at a later date.


Bédard, Raymond

1939 – 2017

Passed away at the CSSS Memphremagog on July 12, 2017 at the age of 78. Husband to Rhéa Boisvert and son of the late Florence Hamel and the late Wilfrid Bédard.

He leaves to mourn his children: Alain (Francesca Rossy), Lisa (André Fisette) and Lyne (late Normand Lapenna); his grandchildren: Constance, André-Jean, Amélie, Cody and Léa, as well as his sister Denise.  He also leaves his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to sincerely thank: Martha, Marie-Ève, Michel, Dr Guay, Father Gérard Ringette as well as the care givers at Grace Village, the CHSLD and the CLSC Memphremagog for the excellent care provided to Raymond.

Visitation will take place at the Cass funeral Home, 545, Dufferin in Stanstead, on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 9 to 11:45 a.m.   Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at the Sacré-Coeur church in Stanstead.  Interment at the Mont-Sainte-Marie cemetery.

As a tribute to his memory, donations to the Baluchon Alzheimer Foundation, 10138, rue Lajeunesse, Bureau 200 ,Montréal, QC, H3L 2E2, would be appreciated by the family.


McVetty Nutbrown , Mary-Lou

1928-2017
Mary passed away peacefully on July 8th 2017 at the Youville Hospital. Daughter of the late Martha and Alex McVetty. Predeceased by her husband Lindsay Nutbrown and her sister Marion Williams. She is survived by her sons Eric, Mark and Gary (Marie-Claude Guilbert), her brother, Keith (Patty), serveral nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff of the Youville Hospital for their dedication and care given to Mary.
Visitation will take place at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville), on Friday July 21 from 7 to 9 pm and on Saturday, July 22 from 10 to 11 am at the Lennoxville United Church followed by the funeral service at 11 am. Interment will be at the Johnville Cemetery following the reception.
Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Johnville Cemetery, c/o Bruce Smith, 19 Pine St. Stanstead, QC J0B 3E5, would be appreciated.


Hughes Priestley , Marina R.



Passed away peacefully at the Wales Home in Richmond, on Friday July 7, 2017 at the age of 80.

 Loving wife of the late Douglas Priestley and mother of Karen ( Bob Walker) and Michael (Judy).  Grandmother to Douglas (Emelie), Shawn (Alicia) and great grandmother to William and Xavier. Loving daughter of the late Harold and the late Mabel Hughes.
Sister of the late Myrtle, the late Dorothy ( late Ernest Lockwood), the late Patsy ( the late Lloyd Millar),the late Elmer (Jean),  Lorna (Lyman), the late Howard and Donald. Marina also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews, relatives and dear friends.

A service will be held at the Wales Home on July 29 at 3:30pm in the main living room, followed by the burial at the South Durham United cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wales Home, Rte 243N, Richmond, QC, J0B2H0 or to the Heart & Stoke Foundation, 100-2630 rue King Ouest, Sherbrooke, QC, J1J2H1 would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Munday Cutler , Alberta

(1926-2017)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Alberta Ruth Munday on July 1, 2017 at the CHUS Hotel-Dieu Sherbrooke.  
She was the daughter of the late Alfred Munday and the late Violet Cotton. She leaves to mourn her two children Lawrence ”Larry” Cutler (Pierrette Charland) and Christine Cutler (Larry Brazel), her grandchildren Laura, Ian, Colleen and Michael and also her brother and sisters and their families.  
Visitation will take place at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville), on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm with Rev Barbara Wintle officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.


Wilson, Kenneth Alfred

1953 -2017

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ken Wilson at the CHUS –Fleurimont, on June 30th 2017 in his 64th year. 

Ken was loved by many and made friends wherever he went. He will be greatly missed.  He enjoyed hunting, softball, darts and the great outdoors.  He was proud of and loved his children very much.  He is survived by his children Brian (Karen), Amanda (Raymond) and Ivan; his sister Brenda; his grandchildren Aiden, Rylee, Aliyah and Brandon; his stepchildren Jessica (Michel) and David (Danielle) Elliott; his foster children Samuel Wheeler, Amélie and Marc Beauvais. 

Visitation will be held at the Cass funeral Home, 545, Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 9 to 11 am.  A funeral service will follow.  Interment at the Brookside Cemetery in Fitch Bay. 

As a tribute to his memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5151 Assumption Blvd, Montreal, QC, H1T 4A9, would be appreciated by the family.


Lapointe MacAulay , Germaine

(1932-2017)
Passed away at Aube-Lumière on June 29th 2017 at the age of 84. Wife of the late John MacAulay from Scotstown and loving daughter of the late Yvonne Frank and the late Roméo Lapointe. She leaves to mourn her children: Patricia (Réal Bruneau), Michael (Roxanne Lloyd), Iain (Linda Irving) and Donald; her grandchildren : Amélie ,Louis-Philippe-Marc-Antoine, Jean-Sébastien, the late David, Jonathan, Kevin, as well as her sisters: Marleen (the late Peter), Louise (Steve) and the late Réjean (Fern Thompson), along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Hotel-Dieu palliative care unit as well as the staff and volunteers at Aube-Lumière.
The family will receive condolences at the St-Paul’s Catholic Church, Ditton St.  Scotstown, on  Saturday, July 15, 2017  from 9:30 to 11:00 am,  followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow  at the Riverview cemetery in Scotstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Aube-Lumière (http://aubelumiere.com/don/) or the Riverview cemetery would be appreciated. Donation forms will be available.


Martin Lundeborg , Beth

Passed away peacefully at the Grace Village, on  Wednesday June 28th , 2017 in her 93rd year. Formerly of Ayer’s Cliff. Predeceased by her husband Gerald Lundeborg and daughter Janet. She leaves to mourn her daughter Candy( Marcel), son-in-law Clifford Lancaster,  grandson Shannon Lancaster and her brother Douglas Martin.
Private graveside service to be held at a later date. A special thanks to Sandy Klinck, the nurses and caregivers at the Grace Village for the wonderful care given to Beth. In lieu of flowers please make your donations to your favorite charities.
