Lancaster , Wildred Earl



Passed away peacefully at the CHUS Hôtel-Dieu, on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the age of 90 years.
 Husband of the late Joyce Hawkins. Survived by Kelvin (Diane), Clifford (late Janet), Clayton (Wendy), Colin (Mary), Jocelyn (James), Mavis (Gilles), Martin and dear friend of Marion Patrick.  He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the spring.  


Boire , Larry (Bernard Laurence)

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Larry, 61, who died December 16th at the Hotel Dieu in Sherbrooke. He was most precious to his wife Barbara (Hedges), and greatly cherished by his children Will (Lisa Liskovoi), Michael (Destiny Béland), Rebecca and Sam. He will be missed by his brother Paul (Monica Wong) Toronto, brother-in-law Philip Hedges (Christine) Sussex UK, cousins Trudy Munro, Toronto, Shelley and Joanne McDonald, California, and Aunt Donna Dermer, Kelowna. He leaves to mourn his close friends Doug and Marthe Broadbent, Don and Christine Doell, Dave and Carol McCormack, Stephane Souci, Wendy Hughes, Sandra Rundic and his colleagues at Wolters Kluwer. Larry was a proud member of the Lennoxville United Church choir, the Masons and the Cangro Investment Club.

We warmly welcome family and friends on Saturday, December 23rd, 2017 at the Lennoxville United Church, 6 Church St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville), with visitation from 9:30 am to 11:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00. A private family memorial service and interment will be held at the Malvern Cemetery in Lennoxville, Quebec in 2018.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Fondation du CHUS.


Browne Lachance , Grace

(1932 – 2017)

At the CHUS Hôtel-Dieu Hospital, on December 15th 2017, Grace Browne passed away peacefullyat the age of 85. Cherished wife of  Jean-Paul Lachance.
Visitation will take place at the Notre-Dame-Du-St-Rosaire Church Basement (4, Randboro Road in Sawyerville) on Thursday December 28, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Friday December 29th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.
She leaves to mourn her children: Michel (Julie), Pierre (Lorraine), David (Gaetane), Daniel and Richard (Marie-Claire); her grandchildren: Jonathan, Keven, Ian, Cedrick, Vicky, Christopher and Alex: 5 great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters: Roderick, Theresa (Stanley) and Astrid. She also leaves to mourn her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the personnel at the Palliative Care of the CHUS Hôtel-Dieu for the excellent care given to their Mother.

Gibson Goodsell, Beverley

1940 – 2017

Beverley Gibson Goodsell passed away suddenly on December 14, 2017 at home. Daughter to the late Howard Gibson and the Late Elinor Martin.  Brother to the Late Barry Gibson.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband and best friend, Ronald Goodsell. Her children Julie (Russ), Jerry, Jeffrey (Angela), Jody (John) and her beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Jayden, Jordan, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jasmine and Janice.

Also left to mourn are her in-laws, the Goodsell family:  Maurice (Carmen) Goodsell, the Late Doris Goodsell (Fred Slack), the late Roger Goodsell (Darlene) and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her many friends, the community and especially by her line dancing team.

Visitation will be held at the Cass Funeral home, 545, Dufferin St, Stanstead, QC, J0B 3E0, on Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. followed by a tribute to her life.

Chadsey Thorne , Barbara Jean



Our beloved mother, Barbara Jean (Chadsey) Thorne, passed away peacefully at the Grace Village on December 13, 2017. She will be dearly missed by all her children: Brian (Glenda), Stephanie, Dan, Mark, Shannon (David) and Andrew (Sheena); her grandchildren: Amanda (Steve), Paul (Alain), Blaine (Marie-Eve), Jay (Emily), Corey (Gemini), Simon, Eric (their Mom Lorraine), and Chad; her great grandchildren: Brooke, Claire, Ally, Lily-Rose, Annabelle, Ben and Nova; her dear goddaughter Elizabeth Schoolcraft and her family; her dear nephew Terry (Rosemary) Thorne and family; her best friend Barbara McCammon and many other wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ray (2004), sister Priscilla (1917), brother John (1963), mother Mrytle (1982), father Elwin (1959), brother-in-law Gerry (1989), his wife Iris (1988) and their daughter Lynn (2016).
At our mother’s request, there will be no funeral. A private family memorial service and interment will be held at the Malvern Cemetery in Lennoxville Quebec in 2018.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Grace Village and or Church of the Advent (Rev. Dean Ross).
Many many heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Grace Village who gave our mother exceptional loving care.


Powell , Morven Albert


(1944-2017)
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Morven, who died accidently while working in his garage on December 11, 2017. Beloved son of the late Albert Powell and the late Pansy Marlin. He was most precious to his wife Joan (Neil) Powell and greatly cherished by his daughters Cheryl (Jean Robidas) and Tammy (Fred Kopilak). He leaves to mourn his treasured grandchildren, Kaylee, Ezekiel, Nicholas, Sebastian, Logan, Jessy, Benjamin and his best friend and co-worker Patrick Gilchrist.
He will be missed by his siblings, Murray (predeceased Ruth), predeceased David, Ross, Susan, Mac (Liz), Bill (Deb), predeceased Tom (Bev) and brothers and sisters in law, Douglas (Frances), predeceased Graham (Laura), predeceased Melvin (Margot), Steven (predeceased Maggie), Stanley (Pat), Beverly (Peter) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who fondly remember him.
We warmly welcome family and friends to join us for visitation on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 3:00p.m.- 5:00p.m. and 7:00p.m.- 9:00p.m. at Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) QC.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 2:30 p.m. at Hope Community Church (access by back doors), 102 Queen St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) QC. followed by a lunch and fellowship.

Sisco Brown, Irene

1930 -2017

Passed away peacefully at the Magog hospital, on Saturday December 9, 2017 in her 88th year.   Beloved wife of Russell Brown and daughter to the late Gordon Knowlton and the late Edna Sisco.

She leaves to mourn her husband Russell, her children Byron (Marilyn), Debra (Jack), Trudy (Sue), Cindy (Doug), Laurie (David) and Darryl (Darlene).  She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, her sister Shirley (Stan), as well as many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will take place at the Cass funeral, 545, Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.  A graveside service will be held in the Spring.

As a memorial tribute, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 110-1525 Carling Ave., Ottawa, ON, K1Z 8R9, would be appreciated by the family.


Harrison Lizotte, Deanna

1942-2017

It is with much sadness that our family announces the passing of Deanna at her own home in Bury, Quebec on December 8th, 2017 at the age of 75 years with her loving husband and her adoring family members by her side.  Deanna was the daughter of Douglas Harrison and Glenna Hooker (Predeceased).  Dearly missed by her husband, Jacques Lizotte and sons, Shane Lizotte (Cheryl Nicholson), David Lizotte (Caroline Fortin), and grandmother to Dakota Lizotte, Seejay Lizotte, Alex Johnson, and Tommy Johnson.

Deanna will be greatly missed by her brother, Darcey Harrison (Isobel Bake), her nieces and nephews, Debbie Harrison (Lorne Crawford), Dwayne Harrison (Karen Blouin), and many great nieces and nephews, family, and dearest friends.

The family would like at this time to thank the staff at the CHUS Fleurimont and the CLSC Cookshire for the wonderful care offered.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, December 15th, 2017 between 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 16th, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Cass Funeral Home located at 3006, rue College, Sherbrooke, QC. J1M1T9.  A celebration of her life will follow.  Please join us and share your favourite memories.

McAuley, Barbara

After a courageous battle with cancer, we sadly announce the passing of Barbara McAuley, on December 3, 2017 at the age of 64.  Daughter of the late Shirley Aldrich and the late Bruce McAuley. 

She is  survived by her faithful  partner Alan Smith, her devoted daughters Kim Bonin (Chris Buzzell),and Angie Bonin (Bruce Buzzell), and her two cherished grandchildren Zack Smith and Paris Bonin. She also leaves to mourn her sister Cheryl Verlinden (late John Verlinden) and nephew Philip Verlinden. 

A special thank you to Dr. Masse, Dr. Trudel and the paliative team at the CHSLD, the CLSC and  the CO-OP for the care and compassion shown to our mother during the final months of her illness.

As per her wishes there will be no funeral, only a short service at the grave at Pine Hill Cemetary, in Magog, PQ on Saturday December 9th at 1 p.m.  Arrangements entrusted to Cass Funeral Home, Stanstead,PQ.


Curtis Lothrop, Phyllis Vivian

1939 - 2017

At her childhood home in Stanstead, on December 2, 2017, Phyllis Curtis Lothrop passed away suddenly peacefully in her 79th year.  Dear wife of the late R. Harvey Lothrop and was a sister to the late William (Bill) Curtis (Louise Lemon). 

Resting at the Cass funeral Home, 545, Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, where friends may come on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1 to 2:30 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lothrop leaves to mourn her children Scott (Corinne Bédard) and Marsha.  She was a loving grandmother to Jaimie, Karen, late Joey, Sandy and Nigel. She will sadly be missed by her 3 great-grandchildren, nephew Brian Curtis (Kathy Lusty), as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
